This training session is designed to bridge the gap between a "standard" install and an "excellent" Installation. We focus on the precision and best practices venting rules, protecting the heat exchanger, optimizing airflow, and ensure your company keeps the profit from every job instead of spending it on warranty truck rolls.

Core Training Pillars:

  • Venting Physics & Layout: Master the manufacturer tables for equivalent length. We will cover why pitch matters, how to avoid "ice sculptures" at terminations, the "why" behind concentric vs. two-pipe systems and the tips that keep pressure switches from nuisance tripping. 

  • The "Cold Air" Factor: Step-by-step instructions for programming furnace blower speeds (CFM). Learn to match the blower to the actual duct static pressure to eliminate "cold blow" complaints, maximize temperature rise as well as extend the life of the heat exchanger.

  • Duct Sizing (Return Air Basics): Most 90%+ furnaces are "starving" for air. We will cover the basics of return air sizing, filter static pressure drops, and why an undersized return is the #1 killer of variable-speed ECM motors.

  • The Humidifier Conflict: When can you—and more importantly, when can you not—install a bypass humidifier? We will discuss how bypass air can lead to "limit tripping" and why high-efficiency furnaces require specific placement for humidity equipment.

  • Callback Prevention Checklist: A "boots-on-the-ground" guide to the small things: manifold gas pressure, secondary heat exchanger drainage, and Ideal practices.
